I’m Thirsty

So today as the school day progressed, I noticed how thirsty I was getting. I mean I could feel myself getting dehydrated. Throat was dry. Lips dry. Body getting weak. I was even fumbling over words as I taught a concept that I knew extremely well. When I finally got to my water bottle, it was like I couldn’t get enough.

That’s when the spirit spoke to me.   John 4:14 “But Whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life”.

Remember, water is the Holy Spirit who lives inside us. However, it is up to us to read the word of God that it may live and breathe. I used to look at my pastors over the years as well as others who had a relationship with Christ and would be amazed that they always knew the right thing to say. They always had energy. I wanted that energy. I wanted to be that Christian that knew what to say at the right time.

Well, it’s not hard. The key is to drink from His cup daily. Meditate on His word. Allow His spirit to fill you up and flow through you. His spirit gives you strength to do the things God has assigned to you. His spirit gives you the words to say just when you need to say them. When you allow His spirit to fill you and flow through you, you feel energized and ready for anything. You feel whole.

Best part is as you begin to feed His spirit with His word, you begin to want more. As the deer panteth for the water so my soul longeth after thee. But it gets better. The greater the want, the need, the desire, the demand you have for God, His word, His spirit, His presence, His power, His righteousness etc. the more God shows up and exceeds your expectations.

So, please excuse me but I need a minute. I’m going because I’m thirsty.
